Although we believe in keeping your message succinct on all digital platforms, there are times when a mere 140 characters just doesn’t cut it. Especially if you’re retweeting, quoting or including a link.
Last week Twitter officially launched their ‘retweet with comment’, changing the way retweets are displayed without using up all of your precious 140 characters.
By pressing the ‘retweet’ icon and choosing the ‘quote tweet’ option, the tweet will then move into a ‘card’ display format in the Twitter feed. This is great news for businesses on Twitter, as you still have 116 available characters to use for your own comment or link. By preserving the intent and context of the original tweet in a card, retweeters are also awarded the indulgence of expressing their comments in more detail.
The new format will streamline the twitter feed, and also ensure original authors get credit for their posts.

The feature is available on web and Twitter for iPhone, but android users will have to wait.
